Section Nine: Regenerating Our Family Tree

This page documents the progression of Ancestry.com charts.
As the project began, there was little information on the chart for my Zvolanek Ancestors except for the name of my grandfather Jan (John) Zvolanek.

2008:
Even though we don't know much about my grandfather's ancestry - yet - John's decendents portion of the Zvolanek tree has grown quite nicely! John had 6 children (including my mother Marjory) who have provided him with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

2009:
I was able to add my Great-Grandfather's name, also Jan Zvolanek.  After looking at Ellis Island records that included the name of Jan's closest relative, the evidence suggested that my Grandfather and Great-Grandfather were both named Jan.  I then realized that Grandfather's returned letter was addressed to his father Jan - not being RETURNED to son Jan!  One more branch in the Zvolanek portion of the tree was finally added.

July 2011:
Interinfo of the Ukraine provided names that prompted me to add new names and faces to Grandfather's chart.  (Subject to change as Interinfo finds more details.)  Note that Ivan, Jan and Iohann are all versions of the name John, depending on which government's records are discovered.  Click on the chart for a better view:

October 2011:
Dr. Miroslav Koudelka sent me his research report from the Czech Republic.  Since my Great-Grandfather Zvolanek and his entire family was from Krucemburk, Miroslav was able to trace my Zvolanek ancestry back to the mid-1700's.  And now our Ancestral tree is much fuller.
It looks like this:
